The Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA), a leading non-profit organization dedicated to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and meaningful collaboration between academia and industry, is pleased to announce the call for applications for the prestigious “Dr. Yellapragada Subbarow FABA Young Innovator Award 2025.” This award seeks to recognize and support exceptionally talented young scientists and entrepreneurs under the age of 35 (as of 10th August 2025) who have demonstrated impactful innovation in the field of drug discovery or in the translation of biotechnology research into practical, scalable products, processes, or prototypes. The award carries an unrestricted research grant of ₹5,00,000, and is designed to celebrate innovations backed by strong scientific merit, creativity, and the potential to address real-world challenges. Eligible applicants should have a proven track record of excellence, substantiated through peer-reviewed publications, patents, or the successful development of tangible innovations in biotechnology. Interested candidates must submit a 1–2 page write-up describing their innovation, including its scientific foundation, development process, current or potential applications, and overall societal or industry impact. Nominations can be submitted either by peers, mentors, or institutions who recognize the nominee’s contribution, or through self-nomination by individuals actively leading novel and meaningful advancements. The award not only brings national recognition and a platform to present their work at the FABA Annual Conference, but also provides opportunities to network with industry leaders, collaborators, investors, and other rising innovators in the biotechnology ecosystem. Instituted in honor of the legendary biomedical scientist Dr. Yellapragada Subbarow, this award aims to inspire and empower the next generation of biotechnology leaders whose innovations are poised to make a lasting impact on healthcare, industry, and society.
