2D Material Research Fab and Innovation Hub (2D Innovation Hub)-ANRF

" The 2D Material Research Fab and Innovation Hub (2D Innovation Hub), established under the Mission for Advancement in High-impact Areas (MAHA) of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India, aims to create a robust R&D and innovation ecosystem focused on 2D materials-based technologies for electronics and allied applications. The initiative seeks to drive interdisciplinary, multi-institutional, and industry-linked research for the development of indigenous devices, systems, and technologies, while also promoting IP generation, startup incubation, and long-term commercialization. Proposals must target at least two focus sectors such as sensors, emerging electronics, optoelectronics, memory devices, neuromorphic and quantum technologies, and integration with existing platforms like CMOS. Eligible applicants include Indian academic and R&D institutions with proven expertise and necessary approvals, and projects must have a pre-identified site for the Hub. Foreign nationals may apply subject to ANRF norms. Collaborative proposals with multiple institutions and industrial partnerships are encouraged, with industry partners eligible to co-fund and retain the first right of refusal on IP developed, while ownership remains with the implementing agencies. The project duration is up to five years, with a mandatory plan for sustainability and deployment beyond the funding period, and proposals will be evaluated based on relevance, feasibility, and potential impact across multiple sectors."
