The Prof. Saroj Chandrasekhar Memorial Award 2025 invites applications to recognize and reward women scientists in Biosciences and Biotechnology, specifically those in the third or fourth year of their doctoral programs. Instituted by the Chandrasekhar Foundation in memory of Prof. Saroj Chandrasekhar, a pioneering tuberculosis researcher, the award honors her significant contributions to understanding the pathogenesis of tuberculosis. Prof. Chandrasekhar’s groundbreaking research on antibiotic-resistant, dormant forms of the tubercle bacillus has had lasting impacts on disease treatment. Two Awards will be given, each carrying a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a certificate; travel expenses for the award ceremony will also be reimbursed.
