EMBO Global Lecture Courses facilitate scientific exchange outside of Europe, focusing on life sciences topics for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. These courses aim to make complex topics accessible to scientists from various backgrounds by providing foundational knowledge. The courses can only be organized in select countries, including Brazil, Chile, Canada, China, India, Japan, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Singapore, and Taiwan. Organizers must justify how the course addresses a local scientific need and ensure a diverse organizing committee, both geographically and by gender, representing multiple institutes. Organizers are encouraged to contact the EMBO office at least four weeks before the application deadline, especially if applying for the first time.
