Call for Project Proposals under Scheme for Young Scientist and Technologist (SYST)
"The Scheme for Young Scientist & Technologist (SYST) by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) is designed to motivate and nurture young scientists and technologists with a solid background in science and technology to undertake application-oriented, socially relevant research projects. The program focuses on supporting young scientists in finding affordable and adaptable solutions to socio-economic challenges, especially for marginalized communities, contributing to sustainable and inclusive development. Project proposals are invited under two components in identified thrust areas: Technologies in Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Green Technologies (solutions for underutilized crops/vegetables, sustainable rural housing, textiles from natural fibers and additives, health and hygiene for the underprivileged), Renewable Energy (solutions for sustainable livelihoods), Marine Biology (with a focus on seaweed and fisheries transformative technologies), Waste Valorization (converting agro/animal waste into economic resources), and Occupational Health and Safety (reducing drudgery and enhancing worker welfare). The program includes Component A for employed young scientists and Component B, a special call for unemployed young scientists, particularly from SC/ST categories, aimed at fostering scientific innovations that enhance the welfare of marginalized communities and promote sustainable development."

DBT-BIRAC Joint Call for Proposals on 'Carbon Capture and Its Utilization' for Fostering High Performance Biomanufacturing under BioE3 Policy
The DBT-BIRAC Joint Call for Proposals under the BioE3 Policy invites projects focused on advancing energy-efficient carbon capture and its utilization, aiming to create sustainable and scalable technologies for mitigating climate change. The call includes two categories: 1) Discovery & Application-oriented Research (TRL 3-5), which encourages the development and demonstration of proof-of-concept biotechnological solutions for CO2 capture and conversion at the laboratory scale (up to 100 liters), focusing on improving microbial platforms, enzymatic processes, and synthetic biology for CO2 utilization in biofuels, chemicals, and materials; and 2) Bridging Gaps for Industrial Scale-up (TRL 5-7), which targets scaling up proven technologies for industrial applications, such as algal-based carbon capture and microbial electro biorefinery, to commercialize these processes at larger scales (100 liters and above). The initiative seeks to support both academic and industry collaborations in developing technologies that can be integrated into real-world industrial setups. Proposals must address critical aspects like the current TRL level, sustainability, scalability, commercialization potential, and the economic and environmental feasibility of the proposed solutions. Funding will be provided based on the nature of the project, with a focus on fostering innovation and accelerating the deployment of carbon capture and utilization technologies in various sectors.

KVRSS Research Awards - 2025
The Dr. K. V. Rao Scientific Society invites applications for the 25th Annual Research Awards 2024-25 from research scholars and doctorates across all states of India. These prestigious awards recognize outstanding research in four core areas of basic sciences: Rasayanam (Chemistry), Bhoutikam (Physics), Jeevanam (Biology), and Ganitam (Mathematics). The awards are open to Ph.D. candidates who have registered on or before 30/06/2023 and are under 30 years of age as of 31/12/2024. Three awards will be given in each category, with preference for one award in each field going to students in any of the universities / deemed universities / other research institutions situated in India, which should be registered in any recognized university in India. This is a valuable opportunity for young researchers to gain national recognition for their exceptional work and contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
